The Bhaktivedanta Archives

Prabhupada

Preserving the Legacy of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Nestled in the peaceful hills of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina, the Bhaktivedanta Archives is the official historical repository dedicated to the life, works, and teachings of Srila Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).

Since its founding in 1978, the Archives has been entrusted with a sacred responsibility:
to collect, protect, and preserve Srila Prabhupada’s original letters, manuscripts, lectures, photographs, films, and personal artifacts, and to make them accessible to devotees, scholars, and seekers across the world.

A Mission of Preservation and Service

Our guiding principle is simple but profound:
“To preserve and perpetuate.”

While publishing and distribution remain important, the current focus of the Archives is deep preservation — ensuring that every artifact, photo, and recording remains intact and pure for future generations.

This task requires:

  • Time and devotion from trained staff

  • Specialized technology for archiving

  • And the generous support of the global devotional community

 A Treasure of Devotional History

The Archives safeguards:

  • Thousands of audio recordings of Srila Prabhupada’s lectures and conversations

  • His handwritten manuscripts, correspondence, and notes

  • Rare and beautiful photographs from his worldwide travels

  • Films, videos, and memorabilia

  • The complete VedaBase™ — a searchable digital library of his teachings

This ever-growing collection is a spiritual goldmine — not only for ISKCON members but for anyone seeking authentic Vedic wisdom, personal transformation, and historical depth.
